LIFT Fitness Foundation is excited to announce its 9th annual relay run to end homelessness. This year, the event will take an exciting new route: from Virginia Beach to New York City. With previous years’ successful events journeying from Virginia Beach to Washington D.C., this year’s run will push boundaries further than ever before.
The event is scheduled to begin on Veteran’s Day, November 9th, 2024, continuing non-stop to New York City. Fourteen dedicated runners, accompanied by eight drivers split between two RVs and two lead cars, will make the 339-mile journey. Large banners on all vehicles will display our proud sponsor logos, providing a visual demonstration of the local community’s support for the cause.
While the event has a new route, the goal remains the same: to raise awareness about veteran homelessness and to support local communities in their fight against it. The funds raised from the event will go directly to support the LIFT Fitness Foundation’s programming, which provides self-confidence and empowerment to the community’s most vulnerable population. “We wanted to be heard, we wanted the homeless population to be recognized and not swept underneath the rug,” said Jim White, Founder of the LIFT Fitness Foundation. “And what better way to do that than to use the gifts we have and the health message we speak daily to draw attention to this need.”
